Are you gearing up for the LSAT but finding it hard to stay focused and organized? You're not alone. At Ginsburg Advanced, we advise our students to take the first step in managing test anxiety with good study planning. Let's dive into a step-by-step guide to ensure you're well-prepared for the upcoming LSAT test dates.

LSAT Test Dates Overview

The LSAT is offered multiple times throughout the year, allowing students flexibility in choosing a test date that best fits their schedule. We recommend placing the registration deadlines on your calendar since your testing date won't be scheduled under closer to your exam:

Registration Deadlines:

  • April 2025: Register by February 27, 2025

  • June 2025: Register by April 22, 2025

  • August 2025: Register by June 27, 2025

  • October 2025: Register by August 22, 2025

Accommodations Deadlines:

The deadline to request accommodations is the same as the registration deadline for each test date. So, for example, if you're taking the April 2025 LSAT, you need to submit your accommodations request by February 27, 2025

Creating Your Study Plan

A solid study plan is key to LSAT success, especially if you struggle with focus and organization. We recommend dedicating a minimum of 80 hours to studying. Depending on your weekly study hours, here's how you can structure your plan:

  • 7-10 hours per week: Start studying 3-4 months before your test date. This timeframe allows you to spread out your study sessions and avoid burnout.

  • Under 7 hours per week: Consider extending your study time to 4-6 months. This is especially important if you plan to take the LSAT twice to improve your score.

Specific Recommendations for Each Test Date

  • April 2025: Begin your study plan now if you haven't already.

  • June 2025: Kick off your study sessions by February 2025.

  • August 2025: Start preparing by April 2025.

  • October 2025: Begin your study routine by June 2025.

Additionally, make sure to complete your applications 4-6 weeks after your test date to meet your deadlines.

Managing Test Anxiety

Test anxiety can be a major hurdle, but with good planning, it becomes manageable. At Ginsburg Advanced, we focus on helping you create a structured study plan that reduces stress and increases confidence. Here are a few tips:

  • Break Down Your Study Sessions: Divide your study time into manageable chunks of 30 or 60 minutes and take regular breaks to stay fresh.

  • Practice Mindfulness: Techniques like deep breathing and meditation can help calm your nerves.

  • Stay Organized: Keep track of your progress and adjust your plan as needed.
